LUKE 15:1-7 NKJV

1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.”
3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying:
4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

One of the things that bring happiness and rejoicing in heaven is; "when a sinner repents." In the parable, when the Shepard comes home, he called together his friends and neighbors saying "rejoice with me for I have found my lost sheep. Verse 7 says "there will be MORE JOY (this is what i termed "PARTY") in heaven over one sinner who repents.

1. AS THE SHEPARD: The Shepard here may be referred to as the church leaders. As church leaders, are you contempted with the few saved people in your congregation?

99 out of 100 is a pass mark, but are we making extra effort to save that one lost soul? The way the 99 are precious to God is the same way the last soul is precious to the creator. He made both in His image and the death of Christ on the cross is very much important for that last soul as much as the saved 99 souls.

The challenge for we Shepards now is to allow the saved souls in our congregation to grow and we go all out to look for the lost souls so that there will be more rejoicing in heaven over every lost soul we bring to Christ.

2. AS THE LOST SHEEP: The lost sheep here may be referred to as the sinner. God so much love the whole wide world that he gave His Only begotten son to die for all, that whosoever believe in Him should NOT PERISH but have EVERLASTING LIFE.

No one is too lost to be saved, the Love of God is for all. God gave His only Son to die for all (Including You and I) the only thing He needs from us is to believe in His son, forsake all our sins, take up our cross and follow Christ. And there will be a great PARTY in heaven.

The party in heaven is going to be; "this day, you conquered the world, you have forsaken your sins, you have decided to be on the Lord's side and the kingdom of hell shall not prevail." The gift that will follow this party is EVERLASTING LIFE (don't miss it).

3. THE 99 SHEEP: Although the parable of the lost sheep didn't say much about the 99 saved sheep, but you and I who has been redeemed, what are we doing to make heaven rejoice over the lives our lost brothers or sisters who are not saved yet?

Imagine how easy it will be for the Shepard if the remaining 99 accompanied him in the quest to find their lost brother or sister, son or daughter, father or mother? The interaction between the sheep will enhance the quick discovery of their brethren. They will know its strengths and its weaknesses, they will know where he/she is likely to be found and so on.

The party in heaven on this note will be "you and I have done our best to fulfill the great commission." Go into the world and preach the gospel is not a message to our church leaders only, but to each and ever one of us.

Are you ready to create a party in heaven? As the Shepard, as the lost sheep and as the 99 saved sheep, the host of heaven is waiting to rejoice, your decision to save a soul or to submit your soul to be saved is the key to creating a party in heaven.

Ponder on this, make your moves and let heaven rejoice.

Have a great day.
God bless you.
