I Timothy 2:1-6 NKJV

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that SUPPLICATIONS, PRAYERS, INTERCESSIONS, and GIVING OF THANKS be made for ALL MEN,
2 for KINGS and ALL WHO ARE IN AUTHORITY, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
3 For this is  good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there  is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

Matthew 7:7-11 NKJV

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Psalms 1:1-6 NKJV

 1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord , And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so, But are  like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

1.  AVOID THE COUNSEL OF THE UNGODLY: Ungodly person is someone who is not religious or He/She is immoral. You can imagine the kind of counsel an immoral person will give.
You cannot give what you don't have, an ungodly person cannot teach you how to live your life with fear of God because He/She is not living life with the fear of God. Therefore, seeking the counsel of the ungodly may lead you to living ungodly kind of life.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of ungodly.
2.  DON'T STAND IN THE PATH OF THE SINNERS: Sinner is a person who commits sin. Standing in the path of the sinners will only predispose a humble man to temptations.
Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil.... You also have to play your own path of not standing in the path of sinner lest you fall into temptation.
3.  DO NOT SIT ON THE SEATS OF THE SCORNFUL: A scornful person is someone who has feelings, attitude or expression of contempt or someone who looks down on somebody else.
Love your neighborh as yourself, there is no commandment greater than this (Mark 12:32). Instead of looking down on your fellow human being, do all your possible best to Help them develop to your standard (morally, spiritually or physically)
4.  DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE WORDS OF GOD: This particular one is very important because it will keep you away from the first three points. Day by Day Bible Study will keep you away from the path of the sinners and from the scornful seat. You will also walk in the counsel of God Himself.
5.  MEDITATE OF THE WORD OF GOD DAY AND NIGHT: This is also very important for every Christian. When you study the Word or you hear the Word, do not be the hearer alone but the doer of the Word otherwise, you will be fooling yourself (James 1:22).
Put into practice all the instructions of God in the bible. Trust not in your own abilities, in all your ways, acknowledged Him and He will direct your path.

If you apply all these attributes in your day to day activities, then you shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bring forth its fruits in its season (God's time), whose leave also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper....indeed that is who I call "a BLESSED MAN"

kindly share this with your friends.

Matthew 8:16-17 NKJV

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”

He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sickness, therefore our sickness is no more our problems. Jesus came to heal our diseases and to seek and save the lost.

Therefore whatever your sickness is, whatever you infirmities are, take it to the Lord Jesus in prayer. The name of the Lord is a strong tower.......at the name of Jesus, every kneels must bow.

Call on Jesus today and He will heal you.

Have a wonderful week.

Revelation 22:12-17 NKJV

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the  Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are  dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Matthew 6:1-4 NKJV

1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Nehemiah 4:1-23 NKJV

1 But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews.
2 And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish— stones that are burned?”
3 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, “Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on  it, he will break down their stone wall.”
4 Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads, and give them as plunder to a land of captivity!
5 Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You; for they have provoked You to anger before the builders.
6 So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.
7 Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry,
8 and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion.
9 Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.
10 Then Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is failing, and there  is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall.”
11 And our adversaries said, “They will neither know nor see anything, till we come into their midst and kill them and cause the work to cease.”
12 So it was, when the Jews who dwelt near them came, that they told us ten times, “From whatever place you turn, they  will  be upon us.”
13 Therefore I positioned men behind the lower parts of the wall, at the openings; and I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.
14 And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”
15 And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work.
16 So it was, from that time on, that half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and wore armor; and the leaders were behind all the house of Judah.
17 Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.
18 Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me.
19 Then I said to the nobles, the rulers, and the rest of the people, “The work is great and extensive, and we are separated far from one another on the wall.
20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us.”
21 So we labored in the work, and half of the men held the spears from daybreak until the stars appeared.
22 At the same time I also said to the people, “Let each man and his servant stay at night in Jerusalem, that they may be our guard by night and a working party by day.”
23 So neither I, my brethren, my servants, nor the men of the guard who followed me took off our clothes, except that everyone took them off for washing.

Building up your spiritual life may just follow the same path rebuilding Jerusalem wall followed. From what I read from the book of Nehemiah chapter 4 today, I don't think it was an easy task rebuilding the walls neither do I think it is an easy task, rebuilding ones spiritual life.

1. Questions will be asked? What are these feeble people doing....(See Nehemiah4:2). The moment you make up your mind to rebuild your spiritual life and rededicate yourself to the Lord, questions will be asked.
Your friends will ask you, what you are trying to do. Do you mean you want to forsake all the pleasures we enjoy together and be spiritual now? Some will doubt if you will be able to sustain the decision you just made. But be determined

2. People will mock your efforts at the beginning......(see Nehemiah4:3 even if a fox goes on whatever they are building, it will break). At the beginning of your regeneration process, some friends will tell you that whatever you are doing wouldn't matter to you if they entice you with money, women, alcohol and so on.... But be determined

3. Do not be discouraged rather be determined and pray to God for help (see Nehe4:4-6). You have decided to be on the Lord's side. The Lord will see your determinations and He will curb your mockers.

4. When the people who questioned and mocked you sees your determination and efforts, they will conspire against you to discourage you and confuse you (Nehe4:7-8). Your adversaries will definitely look for a way to bring you back to sin. They want to use every possible means to confuse you and make you fall. But be determined.

5. Once again, say some words of prayers, and prepare yourself for spiritual battles (see Nehe4:9-14). Watch and pray, lest you fall into temptations. Pray that the Lord should fight for you but at the same time, do not let your determination shake. Be ready to lose friends, be ready to lose families, be ready to face the worse....remind yourself of the battles the Lord has fought on you behalf and has won and just stay strong.

6. Return to your regeneration process and make sure you are ever ready for the spiritual battle... With one hand, rebuild yourself, with the other hand be ready to face your adversaries in battle (Nehe4:15-18)

7. Surround yourself with people of the same vision. So that whenever the enemy come at you, you will have people of the same vision to fight by your side with prayers because the battle is truly the Lord's (Nehe4:19-20)

8. Rebuild your spiritual life with great determination and the Lord will build you up (Nehe4:21-23)

dear Lord our Heavenly father, it wasn't an easy task for Nehemiah when he was rebuilding Jerusalem walls, He was determined and You helped him, everyone here who has made His or Her mind up to rebuild their spiritual lives is presented here at the throne of mercy, please help us to rebuild ourselves. Bless our determinations and efforts.

We pray that You rebuild us all from above. In Jesus name we Pray.

A friend just shared this with me, and I want us to ponder on it

Several years ago, a preacher from a distant town accepted a call from a church in Leeds. Some weeks after his arrival, he had an appointment that made him to board a bus to another part of the town. When he sat down,  he discovered that the driver had mistakenly given him his balance in excess of 50 pence.

As he considered what to do, he thought within him, 'You'd  better give this money back. It would be wrong to keep it'. Then another thought came, "Oh, forget it, it's only 50p; who would worry about this little amount, afterall the bus company makes so much money on fares; they will never miss it. Accept it  as 'a gift from God' and keep quiet.

"When he was getting down from the bus, he paused momentarily at the door, and then handed the 50p to the driver and said, 'Take; the balance you gave me was over'.

The driver, with a smile, replied,'Aren't you the new  preacher in town?'  'Yes I am' he replied.'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about where to go to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I give you balance in excess. I'll worship with you at the church this Sunday.

When the preacher stepped off the bus, he grabbed a nearby electric pole, looked up and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your  Son for 50 pence.

Our lifestyles are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is just a subtle example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your forehead and shoulders once you call yourself a Christian. 'Watch your thoughts;they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character.Watch your character; it becomes your destiny'.

James 1:21-25 NKJV

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in  it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Amos 8:11-13 NKJV

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God , “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord .
12 They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord , But shall not find it.
13 “In that day the fair virgins And strong young men Shall faint from thirst.

:"There shall be famine" says the Lord.

:What is famine?

:Shortage, scarcity, deficiency, want, undersupply, drought, insufficiency.....

:What kind of famine?

:The famine is not of food or of water.

:What kind of famine shall it be then?

:The famine shall be of hearing the WORDS OF THE LORD.

: OOPS!!! (I was shocked when I saw this yesterday)

From what we have seen up there, the Lord appeared to prophet Amos in a vision to talk about the end time and what will happen to the wicked, those who exploit the poor and need (read Amos 8:4-6). From verse 7 to verse 10 of the same chapter, God explained the signs of end time and what will happen to the wicked (read also Matthew 24) and in those days, there will be famine of hearing the words of the Lord (Amos 8:11-14). read the entire Amos 8

My brothers and sisters, every ticking seconds is bringing us to the end times, so NOW is the time to start preparing for the end time. NOW that we still have the word of God (The Bible) within our reach, NOW that we still have the time to study the word, NOW that we still have the time to pray, NOW that we can still seek the face of the Lord and He will be found. Because immediately the trumpet of the Lord sounds, time shall be no more. So NOW, I mean NOW is the time to load yourself with the words of the Lord in preparations for the coming famine.

1.   Read the bible and apply what you read in the bible in your daybyday activities (James 1:22-25). If you do this, when the famine comes and people are seeking the words of God you have reservoir of it, because you are already living the words of God

2.   Pray without ceasing. Always seek the face of the Lord, with fasting and in prayers. Not when the famine comes though. The time for fasting and prayer is NOW. Believe me, the Lord sees a genuine heart trying all its possible best to be on the Lord's side and because He is a loving God, He will show you a way out in times of famine.

3.   Most importantly, Love your neighbors as yourself. Because, you are on the Lord's side, try as much as possible to make your light shine before your neighbors that they will also desire to share the light. Warn them about the coming famine, pray for them, lift up the fallen. You may not know, when the famine of hearing the words of God comes, they may be the ones that will feed you with the needed Words (because you can't have it all).

You can read the words of Jesus about the "Signs of End time" and you will discover that in that time there will be famine for the words of God indeed. Because there will be many false prophets that time and there will be great tribulations. Read the entire MATTHEW chapter 24

Lord Jesus we humbly pray at this hour that You show us the way to prepare ourselves for the end time.
We submit ourselves as empty vessels, please fill us with your words today and every blessed days of our remaining years.
When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more, please we don't want to be found wanting.
Father when our journey on earth is done and the roll is called up yonder, we want to be a part of your kingdom.

Please use the comment box to share other ways of preparing for the coming famine with every readers. God bless you as you do.

Genesis 17:4-7 NKJV

“As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.

Galatians 5:16-26 NKJV

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Proverbs 3:1-35 NKJV

My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you.

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord , Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in  whom he delights. (See Being chastised by God)

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her (wisdom and understanding) proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace. She is  a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are  all who retain her.

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew. My son, let them not depart from your eyes

Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it, ” When you have it with you.

Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety’s sake. Do not strive with a man without cause, If he has done you no harm. Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; For the perverse person  is an abomination to the Lord , But His secret counsel is with the upright. The curse of the Lord  is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just. Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.

Have a wonderful day

Romans 8:1-17 NKJV

1 There  is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who  live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

I Peter 3:1-9 NKJV
1 Wives, likewise, be  submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives,
2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.
3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—
4 rather let  it  be  the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands,
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.

7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

 8 Finally, all of  you  be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;
9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

NOTE: I observed three key things from this admonitions

1. Some men do not honor the words of women, especially in some cultures. Even if your husband do not obey your words, you may win your husband through your conduct of submission and fear....(some men really love that. Its a secret) see verses 1, 2 & 6

2. When your adornments is not of the outward. If you make it of the heart with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and a quiet spirit, this is very precious before God.

3. Husbands, please humble yourself by dealing with your humble wives with understanding and honoring them SO THAT YOUR PRAYERS WILL BE ANSWERED

James 5:7-12 NKJV

7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
9 Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!
10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience.
11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended  by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.

Apply all of the above throughout the week.
Have a wonderful day.
God bless you.

Matthew 4:1-11 NKJV

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.
3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Of course, the journey of life is challenging, there are two sides to it. You either be on the Lord's side or on the devil side, there is no sitting on the fence (you cannot serve two master. Its either you are hot or you are cold, there is no lukewarmness).

Temptation has been defined as the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise. (Dictionary). God does not tempt. Temptation is of the devil and falling into his temptation is sin. Note this, the devil does not tempt people who are already on his side, why should he tempt sinners to fall into sins when he is already a sinner?

As it has been said, there is no sitting on the fence in the journey of life (either you are on the Lords side or not), if you are not on the Lord's side, you shouldn't expect temptation because you are already a sinner. Therefore my brethren, the moment you make up your mind to forsake the world and be on the Lord's side is exactly the moment you register for temptation courses before the devil. Do not be scared though. There are so many ways out of his craft......winks. Let's talk about these two today

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (Revelation 12:11 NKJV).

Jesus is the Lamb of God, the greatest sacrifice for the entire human race so that we can have confidence, through the blood of Jesus, to come to the presence of God as His sons and daughters (Hebrews 10:19, 2 Corinthians 3:4).

This blood has been shed for us. whenever our weary steps falter and we fall into temptation, we can plead the blood of Jesus, our sins will be blotted out and we can be on the Lord's side again (Grin). But this does not mean we should continue falling into temptations deliberately, GOD FORBID (strong face). Romans 6:1-2

This is what Jesus clearly demonstrated in Matthew 4:1-11. The moment it was time for Jesus to begin His ministry, He fasted and prayed and that's when the devil came. But Jesus overcame him by the WORDS (it is written).

See the craftiness of the devil, when Jesus resisted him with bible, the very first time (read verse 4), then the devil presented the second temptation with a bible verse too (read verse 6), oh my God, at this point some people will fall but because Jesus is loaded with the word, He simply countered the devil with another Bible verse, this time around Jesus said "it is written again" (verse 7). Finally, Jesus resisted him the third time with the word "it is written" and Satan left.

Now unto You and I, for how long are we going to be pleading the blood of Jesus because we keep falling into temptations. I think this is the best time we start using the WORD OF GOD to overcome the devil. The bible says "resist the devil and he shall flee....James 4:7".

It is written, it is written again, it is written. what is written? where exactly is it written? or how do we know what had been written? The answers to these questions is the Bible, you can only know what is written, where it is written only if you open your Bibles. If you do not have the Holy Book there are Bible apps all over the Internet, download Bible apps and pray that the Lord should lead you when you read.

DAY BY DAY BIBLE STUDY (not talking about this blog right now........smile) is enough for you, with the help of the Holy Spirit to resist the devil.

dear Heavenly Father, the kind and Holy one, we thank you for the opportunity you have given us this hour to study about how we can overcome temptation, we are grateful for your words from which we studied from.

Father we humble ourselves before you this hour, whenever we study the bible, let Your presence be with us.
Give us the power from above to resist the devil and his temptations whenever he comes our way.
At the end of our journey in this life, we want to be able to tell the stories of how we also overcame the devil by the blood of Jesus and through your words.

You can also share what you do to resist the devil by using the comment box. or you can ask your questions.

Proverbs 4:1-27 NKJV

 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding;
For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.
When I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,
He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live.

Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
 - Do not forsake her (WISDOM), and she will preserve you;
 - Love her, and she will keep you.
 - Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom.
 - And in all your getting, get UNDERSTANDING.
 - Exalt her (understanding), and she will promote you;
 - She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
 - She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.
I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths.
When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble.

Take firm hold of INSTRUCTION, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.

Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil.
Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on.
For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.

For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence.
But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.

  My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;

 - For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
 - Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
 - Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
 - Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.
 - Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.
 - Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.

Indeed it's a very long journey that has two ends. The journey has a common start point, but along the way, each pilgrim chooses where to follow. There is a broad easy way and there is a narrow difficult way. However, there are connecting roads that links the two roads, the pilgrims can make a change at any point in the journey to be on either of the roads....

The journey is very tiring on the narrow way, the road is rugged, slippery, and bad. The journey is always in the darkness. Believe me about this, the pilgrims don't find this journey funny, they fall, they rise, they fall, they rise and this is what they experience till they reach the destinations. The good thing is that, whoever endure all these things to the end shall reign with God.

The Journey through the narrow way is the Christianity journey. God so love the world and He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes Him should not perish, but have everlasting life... Let us hear what the Son said about this journey of life..

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and THERE ARE MANY WHO GO IN BY IT.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and THERE ARE FEW WHO FIND IT.
Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV

John 8:12 NKJV

Many of us has found the Light and the light is with us, therefore Jesus said “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV

Now the You and I have the light to travel through the narrow way (because we believe in the Son of God), it is therefore our duty to shine this light so bright so that other pilgrims will be helped in their journeys to find their paths in the narrow way (see:Cups of cold water (verse 2) ). The pilgrims on the wide way will also see the brightness of our light and will find their ways back to the narrow way.

Remember: our purpose on earth is not to get lost in the dark but to be a light to others, so that they may find way through us.

Have a nice day
God Bless you.

James 5:13 NKJV

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.

Many of us are guilty of the offense of coming to the presence of the Lord only when we are in trouble. That is we tend to forget the Lord when everything seems right and we are cheerful. This offense did not begin with You and I. Let us read this story;

Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?  Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”  And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
Luke 17:11-19 NKJV

We MAY pray and we MAY not receive answers, if we pray amiss but we can never praise amiss (if we sincerely look back on what God has done for us and we praise Him from the depth of our heart).

It is a "must" for us to pray and it is also our duty to praise the Lord. When you make your supplications, you are demanding of the Lord but when you praise Him sincerely, you are not demanding this time around, you are rather appreciating His love towards you. Let us put ourselves in God's shoes (smile), if all someone does to us is to ask ask and ask and He or She never comes back after we've helped them how do we feel? And let us also imagine someone that ask a little, yet praises us much, do we feel like "I have do everything possible to make such person happier?"

Although God is a merciful God, but believe me praises also set God into actions (see: HOW YOU CAN GET GOD TO FIGHT FOR YOU) II Chronicles 20:21-22. The 10 lepers prayed, the Lord answered their prayers, only one came back to praise the Lord openly and in a loud voice just like he asked for mercy in a loud voice and Jesus pointed that out to show us the Lord appreciates our praises and thanksgiving.

Now unto You and I, we have seen a reminder this day, let us put on our garment of praise and appreciate the Lord for what He has done, what He's doing and what He will still do.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Have a great day
God bless you.

Jeremiah 18:1-11 NKJV

1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord , saying:
2 “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.”
3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.
5 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord . “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!
7 The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it,
8 if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.
9 And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it,
10 if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it.
11 “Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord : “Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.” ’ ”

As the word of the Lord went to prophet Jeremiah in those day, the same word of the Lord has come to us this day. The lesson, the Lord wants him to learn at the Potter's house can be clearly seen in verse 4 above. The first vessel the Potter made is not good enough so He marred it and made it to another vessel as it seems good for Him.

The same way You and I are clays in the hand of our creator (in fact we are dust made in the image of God and the difference between us and the clays is the breathe of life from God Himself), He is a merciful Potter, He said if a nation who He has spoken against turn from their evil and the He will relent.

Let us try to be more righteous before the Creator, do not turn away from being Holy, we may not know the good thing He has planned for you and i now, but the moment we turn away from being holy and being righteous may also be the moment the Creator will change His plans concerning us (God forbid).

Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.

Give this a deep thought.
Have a wonderful day.
God bless you.

Isaiah 55:1-13 NKJV

1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.
2 Why do you spend money for what  is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what  is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David.
4 Indeed I have given him as  a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people.
5 Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the Lord your God, And the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.”
6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord , And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord .
9 “For  as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in  the  thing for which I sent it.
12 “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the Lord  for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

These are the words that comes out of the mouth of the Lord to you and I this day and they shall not return void, it shall accomplish it's mission and it shall prosper. These words has called us to abundant life and we shall have it in full.

All we have to do is to incline our ears to the call to abundant life. He said "come to me, hear and your soul shall live and I will make an everlasting covenant with you" (vs 3)

Therefore my brethren, Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord , And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

The Lord has done His part, He has made us great promises to have abundant life, it is left for you and I to do our part (incline our ears to the Lord and to delegently seek His merciful face).

Have a wonderful day

Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 NKJV

1 Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days.
2 Give a serving to seven, and also to eight, For you do not know what evil will be on the earth.
3 If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie.
4 He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.
5 As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.
6 In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, Either this or that, Or whether both alike will  be good.

What this bible verses are telling us is that; we should not be lazy or be discouraged in what we ought to do. A lot of people will give you reasons why you shouldn't do what you ought to do, attempt it anyway because you do not know if it will prosper.

Do not give excuse for yourself as well, he who observe the wind will not sow and he who look at the clouds will not reap. You do not know the ways of the Lord... Isaiah 55:8-10 (“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord . “For  as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater). Therefore, make your decision to sow and make sure you involve God as you take each steps. Sow in the morning, sow in the evening and the Lord will bless your effort

Do your best and leave the rest, God will bless the rest and you will surely have the best.

Have a fruitful week.

Psalms 107:1-16 NKJV

Oh, give thanks to the Lord , for He  is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord  for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons— Because they rebelled against the words of God, And despised the counsel of the Most High,

Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there  was  none to help.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord  for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the gates of bronze, And cut the bars of iron in two.

II Peter 1:5-11 NKJV

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Faith+Virtue+Knowledge+Self-control+Perseverance+Godliness+Brotherly kindness+Love = Fruitful growth in the faith (II peter 1:8)

FAITHComplete trust or confidence in someone or something (Oxford dictionaries)

VIRTUEBehaviour showing high moral standards (Oxford dictionaries)

KNOWLEDGEFacts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject (Oxford dictionaries)

SELF-CONTROLThe ability to control oneself, in particular one’s emotions and desires, especially in difficult situations (Oxford dictionaries)

PERSEVERANCEPersistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success (Oxford dictionaries)

GODLINESSThe quality of being devoutly religious; (Oxford dictionaries)

BROTHERLY KINDNESSThe Greek word for brotherly kindness is transliterated "philadelphia," a compound involving two words: "phileo" (love) and "adelphos" (brother). It literally means "the love of brothers." (http://www.bible.ca/ef/expository-2-peter-1-7a.htm)

LOVEA strong feeling of affection (Oxford dictionaries)

The subject of this matter is You and I and this is what the bible verses is telling us.

It is assumed we have a complete trust or confidence in God (FAITH), therefore, we need to add a behavior of high MORAL STANDARDS to our lives (VIRTUE), then we need to increase our theoretical and practical understanding of our fellow men and God (KNOWLEDGE), we must not forget the ability to control our desires and emotions especially when we are faced with difficult situations (SELF-CONTROL), in addition to this we must learn to constantly trust in the Lord in difficult situations or when we experience delays in what we desire of the Lord (PERSEVERANCE), in addition to that, we must increase the quality of our deep religous commitment (GODLINESS), we must also ensure that Kindness to one another is a paramount thing in our lives (BROTHERLY KINDNESS) and the greatest of all these, LOVE (see The greatest gift (love)) we must love those who love us, we must love those who doesn't love us and most importantly, we must love God.

The bible says; "if these things are yours and abound, YOU WILL NEITHER BE BARREN NOR UNFRUITFUL in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." II PETER 1:8

Verses 10 and 11 says; if you do this things, you will never stumble and you will have entrance abundantly into the kingdom of God. "10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

Dear Lord, we humble ourselves before you this hour, have mercy upon us.

Increase our faith oh God, let us live a virtuous life before you always, let us know you more and more. Give us the ability to control ourselves, emotion and desires.

Increase our persevering spirit, let us always be godly. Please teach us to show more kindness act to both people that deserves it and those who don't. Father we want you to increase our loving spirit.

At the end of our journey here we want to be in your heavenly kingdom.

In Jesus name we pray.

If you have been blessed by this, please share with your friends

James 3:1-12 NKJV

1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
3 Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.
4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.
8 But no man can tame the tongue. It  is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With it (tongue) we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?
12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

LUKE 18:9-14 (NKJV)

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

We are all in a race and our ultimate goal is the Kingdom of God. As we all journey through this life, it is not our duty to judge any man (especially the ones we see in the church) based on their ways of life. We shouldn't think that we are Holier than any one based on the way we relate to God and our perception of the way others relate to God.

Just like the parable we read up there, some Christians are very judgmental when they look at other Christians. They look at them with disgust because they feel they are holier than them. Because you pay your tithes and offerings regularly does not mean you should look at someone who doesn't pay his/her tithe regularly like a sinner, because you give alms doesn't mean you should look at Christians who doesn't give alms with disgust, because you fast and pray, doesn't mean you should despise people who doesn't.........and so on while in some cases, some Christians despises other Christians because of their social economic status (see: SHOWING FAVOURITISM IN THE HOUSE OF GOD)

no one knows what is going on deep down within the people we look at with disgust. just like the parable, while we are there judging them, some of them are solemnly seeking the face of the lord for mercy, and the lord being a merciful God will help them out of their weakness (I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other), but what will the lord do with the people that feels they are holier than others?

we should not forget that the Lord sees the heart of all men. Jesus concluded the parable by saying "for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." The race is for all, do not let the thought of your heart towards others be a stumbling block for you. Always humble yourself before God.

If you cant help others, don't despise them.
