THE SECRET OF LIVING A HOLY LIFE

BIBLE READING: Luke 11:9‭-‬13 NKJV

9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you
10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened
11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!

This is a popular scripture, we know it and we use it when we pray (Father, your word says we should ask and it shall be given unto us......).

Jesus was talking to the disciples when he gave the above bible verses. He told them to ask and it shall be given unto them, they should seek and they will find and they should knock, and it will be opened unto them.

In the book of Matthew 7:7-11, Jesus said; If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

I so much love these bible verses that i quote them whenever i pray. The question that came to my mind when i was reading through this bible verses right now is, "how often do we seek the face of the Lord for the gift of the Holy Spirit?"

The greatest challenge of many Christian is living a Holy life. We cannot live a Holy life by our power or by our might, it can only be possible to live a Holy life if we have the Holy Spirit in us.

The only secret of living a Holy life is; by having the Holy Spirit permanently dwelling in us. This means, to live a Holy Life, you need the Holy Spirit.

How do we get the Holy Spirit?
By relentlessly asking, seeking and knock on God for it. God loves us more than we can ever imagine. His love towards us is beyond the love we've experienced from our earthly fathers and mothers (Luke 11:13). He gives good gifts (Holy Spirit) to those who asks.

God is Holy, He dwells in Holiness, He can only dwell in us if we are Holy. How pleasing and how sweet will it be if our lives are so Holy that it becomes a dwelling place for our Creator.

PRAYERS
Dear Father, we humble ourselves before the throne of mercy this moment to seek your Holy Face for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We have so many heart desires but what we ask for this moment is the gift of the Holy Spirit, dear Lord please send your Holy Spirit upon us. We want our lives to be Holy and we want our souls to be a dwelling place for You.

Please grant us this desire and make us Your Holy Temple.

Thank you father for answered prayers.

In Jesus Name we have Prayed.

Amen
